PLEASE PRAY for the wisdom of world leaders as they strive for peace. We are all guilty of putting our own ambitions and pride before the needs of others from time to time. Be with those in power to help them to discern what actions progress good for the many, not the few.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Today is Pentecost or Whit Sunday as it was traditionally known and the weather too feels more like it used to be when we had the traditional Whit Sunday marches with the Brass Bands (happy days).
Join us to celebrate with Meltham Churches Together at our Pentecost Celebration Service at St James’ Church – Meltham Mills – 4pm today. All welcome.

PLEASE PRAY with thanksgiving for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Without it, we would continue to be a people thrashing about in murky water, clinging to the boat that contains our money, our possessions, our pride and human strength. We pray that we let your Spirit in to guide us down the path you have prepared for us. As Rev’d John said in his letter this month – let us be a Spirit filled church, loving everyone with an endless love.
