Hope to see you there 🙂
It’s fun; it’s friendly; and it’s welcoming.
Welcome Back! To those of you (like us) who have been away for their holidays, welcome back and I hope you have had a great time. Apologies for the delay to the September issue as I have been on holidays and ‘back to school’ to organise. However I must say a great BIG THANK YOU to Alison Whiteley for helping me out and getting this issue started, – Thank you!
This month’s has lots of interesting articles and updates from many people including Helme Ladies (pg 12) and Chris Sinclair (pg 24). Not forgetting a fantastic time at Keswick (pg31) which I would encourage you to think about joining us next year.
They do say Summer is the time for weddings, it sure was, have a look on page 19 as we send our congratulations.
The deadline of the October magazine will be Monday 20th September 2023.
Please send them via melthamparishmagazine@gmail.com or via the vicarage letterbox.

Meltham Civic Service – Sun 10th September – 10:30am.
Tomorrow we celebrate all things #Meltham and welcome our new Councillors to their roles following this years elections. The civic parade will leave the Carlile Institute at 10:30am and process on to St Bartholomew’s Church led by Peter Foden and Meltham & Meltham Mills Band @MelthamBand accompanied by representatives from local groups.
Come along! – all welcome.
Note – there are no other services at the other churches in the Parish other than a short Holy Communion at 9:30am (St Bart’s).
Debbie and Mike Still are hosting a church family social barbecue for the Parish this weekend.
Saturday 9th September from 4pm onwards at 127 Slaithwaite Rd, Meltham. HD9 5RW………….
We would like to invite you to a open home barbecue at our house. Bring and share food and drink including bread and alcohol if wanted. If you have special dietary needs feel free to bring something for yourself. Bring meat and it will be cooked for you. We will provide salad squash tea and coffee. It’s going to be a warm sunny day so children are welcome to use the pool – bring swimming stuff, adults too if you want a quick dip! Don’t forget your sun cream and hats too!
We are going to keep it simple. The BBQ will be alight, 4 ft deep swimming pool plus a trampoline for children and adults that have not lost their inner child.
Please share widely. We don’t want people to feel left out or uninvited. Aim is for a nice informal social time.
Come and enjoy our beautiful garden and views. We are so blessed and want to share them.
Mike & Debbie

The funeral of Revd Peter Rolls will take place on Saturday 16th September at 11.30am in St James Church, Meltham Mills.
In very recent years Peter has had a passion for cake, in fact his eyes would light up at the sight of cake, so after the service everyone is invited to stay, share memories of Peter and join us for a cup of coffee/tea and cake.
